Cabernet Sauvignon 2009: 750ml
Our estate vineyards planted in 1990 on the Napa Valley hillsides east of the Silverado Trail provided the grapes. A variety of exposures increased the wines complexity. Western slopes: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Eastern slopes: Cabernet Franc and a second Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard. Crop level and vine growth were closely monitored to achieve balance and intensify fruit character. The vineyards are densely planted (1240 vines per acre) and ver tically trellised. The rocky soil with moderate amount of clay averaging three feet in depth provides excellant drainage.

Harvest & Tasting Notes:
The nose opens to blueberry, plum, and vanilla. The lush, full-bodied palate continues with flavors of mulberry, cedar, leather and hints of tobacco. This wine's incredibly long finish is accentuated by its integrated tannins and round, lush flavors.
The 2009 vintage is producing outstanding fruit that looks and tastes to be a spectacular vintage. Though rainfall was little more than two-thirds of normal for the third year in a row, the timing of the precipitation was on the vine's side. Couple that with the lack of frost and a relatively cool growing season, Mother Nature managed to have it all work in unison to give vines and grapes the best possible scenario.
Reviews:
"Ripe dark berries, flowers, mint and spices are some of the notes that flow from this sexy, voluptuous red. There is more than enough stuffing to suggest the wine will drink well for another decade or so."
